CLUB PROFILE:
The Talbot Trail ATV Club (TTATV) operates in Elgin County, namely the
Townships of Central Elgin, and South Dorchester. The club is committed
to building sanctioned ATV trails, promote strong environmental values
and safety practices. The Talbot Trail AVT Club and its 90 members are
proud to be associated with the OFATV. We strongly believe that it is
everyone’s responsibility to foster a collective positive mind set
in developing and maintaining a safe riding trail system for families,
community groups and tourist with the spin off affect being the economic
benefit for local businesses. Our riding area is solely based on private
landowners through land use agreements on two satellite trail locations.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Talbot Trail ATV Club proposes a new trail to link the current two
satellite trail locations. The first satellite trail location is on private
property in the Village of Orwell where the club has two properties with
existing trail system. The second satellite trail location is in the Village
of Belmont where the club has 3 properties with existing trails. This
link would be approximately 18kms. The area where the new trails will
be developed must be cleared of brush and debris and they will need to
construct two bridges to cross creeks and environmentally sensitive lands.
Certain areas of the trail system will have gated entry and this will
be posted to inform the riders of the nature of the trail system. The
OFATV signage program will be put into place. The work will be conducted
by TTATV club members, Dales Equipment Rental, Airzee Inc (excavation)
and McCarthy Signs for the OFATV signage program. The project will start
Sept 8/07 and be completed by Dec 8/07.
