CLUB PROFILE:
The Great Lakes ATV Club (GLATV) is a member club of the OFATV and is working to promote ATV’ing and develop trails in Ontario. The club holds charity rides several times per year including a Poker Ride in August and a Toy Drive Ride at Christmas. The club has donated over $4500 to the Woodstock Hospital Foundation. The club recently hosted a charity ride at Camp Borden for the Holmes Foundation and raised and donated over $2100. The clubs mission statement states that it will create, enhance and designate a trail network to give ATV riders a place to enjoy the recreation. By providing sanctioned trails, we can educate riders to respect the environment and other trail users.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This project will concentrate on 8 riding areas used by the GLATV club. The project will concentrate on trail rehabilitation, new trail development, culvert replacement sufficient to carry ATV’s, the rebuilding of a bridge, clearing, repairing and resurfacing areas with aggregate and to sign the trail with OFATV signage. The project has the support of the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs and there is a request that the OFSC club partner on a portion of this project (areas 3 & 4). The club proposal is supported with pictures and a description of the work.

AUTHORITY TO UNDERTAKE PROPOSED PROJECT:
Attached to the GLATV proposal is a letter from the land owner providing permission for the work to be undertaken and the club has a land owner agreement for this particular trail.

INSURANCE WAIVERS FOR VOLUNTEERS:
The work will be completed by GLATV volunteers who will be covered under the OFATV policy.

Doug Murray Excavating will coordinate the volunteers and will provide the necessary insurance documents once the work order is signed

PROJECT PROMOTIONS:
The CATV and the OFATV will be identified in promotion of this project on the club website (www.glatv.com) as well as in feature articles in the Woodstock Sentinel-Review and the Ayr News.

OFATV REVIEW RECOMMENDATION:
This project proposal is complete and the GLATV club should be notified that they can proceed with their project.
