CLUB INFORMATION:

CLUB PROFILE:
The Baxter ATV Trail Riders (BATVTR) are located in Georgian Bay Township and have an active roster of 70 to 80 members. The club has applied for and been granted permanent road access through a municipal by-law. They have over 25 kms of trails under land use agreement as well as their road network. The club is recognized in the community for the volunteer work that they perform and the charity rides that they host. Their most popular ride is in partnership with Four Wheeling Women and is a fundraiser for Breast Cancer, usually hosted in late April. The Baxter ATV Trail Riders have a sound working and trail relationship with the local snowmobile club.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The work will begin at the clubs trail head at the end of Lone Pine Road in Port Severn. The proposed work will extend approximately 6kms. This project will require work to be done on an existing bridge, 4 culverts will be added to allow water to flow between wetlands, a drainage program will be implemented and aggregate will be added for low areas. The club has provided a set of pictures to support their project.

AUTHORITY TO UNDERTAKE PROPOSED PROJECT:
The BATVTR have land use agreements in place for the properties under consideration and these agreements are on file at the OFATV office.

INSURANCE WAIVERS FOR VOLUNTEERS:
The work will be completed by BATVTR volunteers who will be covered under the OFATV policy. The project will be completed in 6/8 weeks, starting September 27 and ending December 1st.

CONTRACTORS WSIB CERTIFICATE #:
The club has identified Steve Ogden as the preferred contractor for this project and if he is needed he will provide the necessary WSIB certificates.

PROJECT PROMOTIONS:
The club will provide press releases in the local Gazette newspaper. The trail will be signed and the work of the volunteers will be recognized in the clubs website.

OFATV REVIEW RECOMMENDATION:
The club has provided a complete application form and we recommend that the clubs project be funded.
